Hurricane lanterns have a rich history dating back to the early 19th century when they were first used by sailors to navigate through stormy seas and protect against high winds. Our vintage-inspired Hurricane Lamp is made entirely of steel and glass and can be used with a wax candle or our rechargeable flameless candle. Use the curved copper handle to hang the lantern on your porch, or set it anywhere as an accent light for your gathering.

Please be aware that when using a candle inside the Hurricane Lantern, the top surface can become extremely hot. To prevent burns or injury, exercise caution when handling the lantern during and after use.

For your safety, we recommend refraining from touching the top of the lantern until it has completely cooled down. Always place the lantern on a stable and heat-resistant surface. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.

Q: Is it safe to use real candles in the Hurricane Lantern?
A: Yes, you can safely use real candles in the Hurricane Lantern as long as they are 4.5 inches or shorter in height. The lantern also includes a wax runoff feature that prevents any wax from dripping outside of the lantern, keeping your surroundings clean.
